The Taurus Constellation

Todorovsky's film examines life in a provincial Russian town (that is too small to even appear on the map) just outside of Stalingrad during the famous WWII Battle. This is NOT a traditional war film, and the epic events of the battle take place almost entirely off screen. Instead, Todorovsky outlines a crude love triangle between three young people caught up in the harsh Russian winter. The stark winter settings, and the characters' struggle for survival, are what make this film one worth watching.

The grandmother, a war veteran, comes to visit her grandson for the first time, but he is not at all happy about her arrival, as he was planning to go camping with his friends. However, his tireless and energetic grandmother changes his attitude towards her. And they become best friends.

Now he learns that she is alone with a small daughter, the girl's father having been killed at the front.

The adult works in the building trade and the boy goes to school and looks after the house. They get on very well until Natacha arrives in big Fedor's life. Set in contemporary Moscow, this comedy drama from 72-year-old director Pyotr Todorovsky is a remake of Abram Room's controversial silent film Bed and Sofa (1927). Actor Sergei leaves his wife and drops in on friend Kostya, married to Rita. Rita and Sergei pair off after Kostya goes away on a business trip, and when Kostya returns, they become a threesome. Shown at the 1998 Berlin Film Festival.

Southern Cross is Above Us

In a small seaside town lived two friends—the feisty Fedka Boiko and the thoughtful, quiet Vovka. One day, the boys called a doctor to visit a sick person and began to visit him. That is how an extraordinary person entered their lives — polar pilot Pavel Ivanovich Fedoseenko, who turned out to be a shortwave radio amateur. From him, the boys learned about distant Antarctica for the first time — and vowed to become polar explorers. In the Antarctic village of Mirny, polar explorers Vladimir Sazonov and Fyodor Boyko meet—old friends who haven't seen each other in many years, who reminisce about their childhood in a southern coastal town and the romance of long-distance radio communications on short radio waves.

To mark the 60 years since the beginning of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The film is set in a small village in western Russia. It is a story about two days from the life of an ordinary family: a father, a mother and their five-year-old daughter. That’s what Garik Sukachyov says about his film: “On June 22, 1941, a family is celebrating the daughter’s birthday. It is a beautiful sunny day, full of joy and merriment. For the girl, it is filled with important events and adventure – her birthday is celebrated by the whole village, not just by her family. And no one yet knows that tomorrow her father will leave for his work in a district center and come back a few hours later in a home guard uniform only to say goodbye to his family. And that at the moment of their leave-taking the Germans already will be entering the village. And that they will be shot by the river, on the same bank where only yesterday the carefree, happy family was sunbathing and having fun…”

Riorita

The former supervisor of the camp of political prisoners, Barkhatov, turned out to be an ordinary corporal in the war, failed, and did not want to change in the new circumstances and remained a camp "turntable". And during the war, being together with naive village people, he arranged a small "puppet" theater, where he became the main "puppeteer".
