Coslada, near Madrid, Spain, October 2015. Hundreds of extras are trapped in a huge stage where they pretend with hysterical joy that they are celebrating a party that will be broadcast on television on New Year's Eve. But more than a week later, the clash between several staff members threatens to prolong indefinitely such a maddening nightmare.

A quietly comic look at a Madrid housewife's attempt to escape from her mundane and tedious existence. Encountering mostly impersonal bureaucracy, she has no specific plan for what she wants to do, just the fervent hope that she will find the adventure she's so desperately seeking.

Two Spanish women from different generations find themselves sharing a hospital room in Belgium. María has been living there for decades after emigrating when she was young and Verónica is a young girl recently arrived in search of opportunities she never found in Spain. A strange friendship is forged between them and this leads María to set out on a return journey to the south of Spain with an unusual mission.
