The film tells the tale of three men, who have murdered the rich mother-in-law of one of them and four members of her family in order to steal her fortune. An unemployed man decides to kill his mother-in-law in order to take her property. But when, with the help of two accomplices, he sets fire to her house, his wife and their two children will die with her.

Professor Algeras becomes the target of foreign agents working for major powers, who use every legitimate and illegitimate means at their disposal to try to get hold of his scientific discovery. The most ruthless and unscrupulous foreign agent, who ultimately traps Algeras, is Milko, who comes from the countries behind the Iron Curtain. It eventually transpires that Milko, who has been brainwashed, was the professor's only son, lost during the communist child abductions.

A young woman arrives in Athens with her dog after the death of her father, the head of a bouzouki band that broke up because television took away their work. She settles in the humble home of a friend, who is married to a petty crook, and looks for work. At some point, she meets a blind student and a mutual attraction develops between them, which blossoms into love.

Shortly after the Occupation, businessman Konstantinos Mavroleon approaches Alekos Kallergis, a fallen aristocrat and professional gambler, and offers to hire him for three months for a large sum of money. Alekos was initially surprised. However, when Mavroleon explained the situation to him, he finally accepted. At the beginning of the war, Mavroleon's daughter, Olga, met army officer Dimos Fokas, who was killed shortly afterwards. Her father, however, told her that he had been taken prisoner. Olga is seriously ill and will die in three months. Mavroleon thought of giving her a few moments of happiness, since Alekos looks remarkably like Dimos. His daughter, although she suspects the deception, accepts the man close to her, so that she can end her life with the deceptive feeling of the presence of the man she once loved.

The sudden visit of Tassos's neighbor (Giorgos Armadaros) frustrates the effort for the suicide of Lena Sotou (Maria Ioannidou), a woman with broken nerves, who uncovers. With the consent of her husband, Dimitris (Stavros Pharmakis), who knows her secret sex life and coexistence, Lena enters a psychiatric clinic. Psychologist Nikolaos Antonios (Vasilis Mitsakis) learns that her mental condition is due both to the primary social condition of her place and to her mother's having her daughter and the man who loved a woman a fisherman. Antonios tries to help him or Lena be dragged by another patient, Libya Popi (Rena Kosmidou).

Two itinerant actress, the Vlakometros and Poniridis, arrive at Adira, a city of ancient Greece groaning under the despotic rule of the tyrant Hippias, to give a performance. Because Vlakometros is identical to Hippias, the dissident intellectuals will try to use it to overthrow the tyrant. A series of incredible comedic misunderstandings and unexpected will follow in this brilliant political satire, which had experienced serious problems with censorship when the Junta was.
