An operetta with music by Johann Strauss II. However, he did not see the premiere. Wiener Blut is set at the time of the Congress of Vienna, 1814-1815, an international conference that sought to settle Europe after the upheavals of the Napoleonic Wars, and follows a traditional operetta plot full of mistaken identities. Count Balduin Zedlau, ambassador of the tiny court of Reuss-Schleiz-Greiz, is posted to Vienna. Count Zedlau is married but a real Don Juan always looking for a new encounter. Many of Strauss' compositions are used in the operetta although he did not specifically composed them for the operetta.

In this hilarious opera parody, Loriot delivers a comedic take on the pretentiousness of the operatic world. The plot revolves around a fictional opera production that spirals into absurdity as egos clash, misunderstandings abound, and everything goes hilariously wrong. Through a series of farcical and exaggerated situations, Loriot brilliantly mocks the pomp and circumstance of opera while showcasing his signature dry humor and love for absurdity. Noch 'ne Oper is a sharp and witty satire of high culture’s often ridiculous nature.

Adaptation of a novel by Johannes Mario Simmel. The story takes place in the Dolomites, where a conflict arises between the clergy of a monastery and the inhabitants of a shanty town for construction workers over the water supply. A young novice feels increasingly attracted to the men who, after work, enjoy themselves in dimly lit bars with music and alcohol with easy girls. As a result, she is in danger of falling away from the faith and, instigated by a woman from the village, even leaves the convent. In the end, however, she finds her way back to God.

Performances from Pamela Coburn, Brigitte Fassbaender, Janet Perry, Eberhard Wachter, the Choir und Ballet der Bayerischen Staatsoper, and the Bayerisches Staatsorchester. Rosalinde, wife of Eisenstein, is having an affair with Alfred. Eisenstein is due to begin a prison sentence the next morning, and the prison governor, Frank, is expected to collect him at any moment. However, Eisenstein allows himself to be talked into attending a fancy dress ball by Dr Falke, and when Frank arrives to find Alfred with Rosalinde, he assumes him to be Eisenstein and carts him off to prison.

A countess, paying a rare visit to her estate, clashes with the man she has hired to manage it.

This performance of Richard Strauss' opera Der Rosenkavalier (1979) features the vocal talents of Gwyneth Jones in the lead role; recorded at the National Theatre Munich.
