In an idyllic Stockholm suburb, 11-year-old Lillebror Ström lives with his mum, dad, sister and grandma. When Alex, his sister, introduces her new boyfriend to the family, only Lillebror and his best pal Jens get suspicious. Is Slim Trim really that nice, and what's the deal with those shady friends of his? Meanwhile Lillebror's daddy Roland has financial troubles. Roland works at the Toy Museum, which is host to a gold exhibition. When the greatest gold heist in national history is exposed, Roland's in trouble, being the only one with access to the secret information about the museum's security system. Lillebror and Jens have to do something.

The year is 1989 and Stefan works as a bus driver between Norrland and Murmansk. With him on the journeys is the Russian interpreter Jana which he has fallen in love with. He is prepared to do everything to win her love, but her mother sets an ultimatum - get a safe front door. Stefan has competition from a Russian and soon the contest is on, "who can give the mother the best door".

The journalist Alf Mattson gets thoroughly drunk at his birthday party, where his wife announces that she intends to divorce him. He is knocked down on the street and is later carried home by a friend. The next day he is to fly to Budapest in order to make a report for the Stockholm television. Mattson disappears in Budapest.

Gary's wife goes away for a week and Gary expects a week of hard work at the office. After having left her at the airport, he misses the bus. But the car mechanic Lasse gives him a ride. Although they are unlike each other, they get to know each other. Gary makes a mess of everything and can't avoid Lasse.

Shows what happens on a completely ordinary day in the year 2000 in Kronoberg. We enter the plot in the middle of a local news broadcast about a flood disaster. There is practically an emergency situation in the area.

To secure an order for 1 000 cabin cruisers from an Arab prince, two companies have to compete by racing each other by canal from Stockholm to Gothenburg. A small family owned company on the brink of bankruptcy is pitted against a much larger competitor and both resort to dirty tricks in order to reach the goal line first.
