Film is based on a strict social opposition between two ‘hotels’ in Zagreb (Esplanada and Shelter), which are only 100 meters away, but also on the relation of color and black and white and 16 mm and 35 mm film.

The film shows celebration of Day of the Republic., held in the village of Novigrad Podravski (Croatia) in 1972. The performers were pupils of the elementary school, members of the local amateur theater, and one soldier.

Accidental Life

Two friends try to tear out their lives from the clutches of idle. An existential study of ordinary lives led by two alienated urban white collar workers, Accidental Life was the only feature film of Ante Peterlić, Croatian film theorist and film critic. The film received mediocre reviews and went largely unnoticed after its release, but has been reevaluated decades later as one of the best Croatian films ever made.

The Four Seasons

The film is an omnibus consisting of three stories - "Usvojenje", "Ferije" and "Probni rok". We follow fragments of the lives of young girls from a social institution for children and young adults without parents. In the first story, a wealthy young couple wants to adopt a five-year-old girl, Zeljka. The emotionally undeveloped child has a hard time adapting to her new environment. In Ferije, fifteen-year-old Visnja spends her winter holidays in a gloomy home for young delinquents, where she experiences her first romance. The heroine of the third story is nineteen-year-old Branka who, after her graduation, tries to find a job and become independent from the social institutions she has lived in her entire life.

The Return

The girl Milka was found at the Zagreb airport while trying to escape from Yugoslavia to her aunt in Germany. A social worker tries to place her in a home for neglected children, and then gives her back to her divorced parents.
