USA from the Sky

Everyone knows the name of Samuel Paty, but few people really know his story. On October 16, 2020, Samuel Paty, professor of History-Geography, was murdered at the end of his college. In the light of investigations and trials, this film looks back on his last eleven days, and the gear that led to his tragic death.

After her mothers death, Grace, 14, decides to go back to Africa to find her father whom she hasn't seen since her parents divorced. After his plane crashes in the desert, her father gets caught by diamond hunters. Grace follows her fathers route along with family friend Kadjiro...

In 1982, André Bamberski learns about the death of his 14 year-old daughter, Kalinka, while she was on vacation with her mother and stepfather in Germany. Convinced that Kalinka’s death was not an accident, Bamberski begins to investigate. A botched autopsy report raises his suspicions and leads him to accuse Kalinka’s stepfather, Dr Dieter Krombach, as the murderer. Unable to indict Krombach in Germany, Bamberski attempts to take the trial to France, where he will dedicate his life to Kalinka’s justice and the imprisonment of Krombach.

March 1945. The Japanese army launches a sudden and extremely brutal assault against the French garrisons in the Far East. Thousands of civilians and soldiers were executed. Hunted by the Japanese enemy, a column of legionnaires already weakened by alcohol and disease decides to enter the jungle to try to reach China and the allied bases.

Nada is going home. Or at least she wants to. When she comes back to Lebanon, she realizes she's a foreigner in her own country. But there's still a place she calls home: an abandoned house in ruins, haunted by the presence of her grandfather who disappeared mysteriously during the civil war. Something happened in this house. From the Sky, an ongoing series, presents a bird's eye view of various regions of the world. The sublime images taken from a helicopter provide the viewer with an unusual perspective of landscapes that one only dreams of, with surprising architecture, wilderness and impossibly gigantic cities. On occasion, touching down, we meet with the people who live in some of the most amazing places on earth. From the sky these regions render all their secrets.
