The series tells the story of Leander Lost, an extraordinary detective who is autistic. Lost is transferred to the small fishing village of Fuseta. He must try to fit in with his new team somehow.

The pattern of killings is striking: Apparently the perpetrator always kills on Mother's Day. And that day is near.

Sauerland, autumn 1995: In the middle of the forest on the Wilzenberg, a walker finds the body of high school graduate Sonja Risse. However, the fact that the killer left a music box with the lullaby "Hush Little Baby" at the crime scene does not lead to a clear solving. 25 years later, the investigative journalist Stefanie Schneider, known as "Mütze", made a surprising discovery in Cologne. In a disused multi-storey car park, she films an undressed corpse of a man with a music box running next to it! When her colleague Jan Römer, who reported on the spectacular Sonja case as a young journalist in 1995, recognizes the melody from back then, he immediately believes there is a connection. He goes to Wilzenberg with his ambitious colleague to interview Sonja's mother Maria, her former teacher Waldheim and her best friends. The more the journalists compile, the clearer the contradictions and gaps that the investigators should have noticed at the time.

The story of Anna from Berlin, who is on vacation somewhere on an island in Southeast Asia with her twelve-year-old son Max. The first images show the woman panicking underwater; only then does the film switch into vacation mode and delights with postcard shots of the Pacific paradise. The idyll is only disturbed by the noticeably darker intercutting shots of a group of locals whose behavior does not bode well. The vacation mood is abruptly ended shortly afterwards: The men turn out to be pirates who take the resort's guests hostage. However, Anna manages to escape; the first thing she does is set fire to the criminals' boats to prevent them from leaving the island.

In the second part of the "Katie Fforde" trilogy, Ursula Karven surprisingly finds an election family as Alicia Charles in Christmas New York. Alicia wants to start her skiing vacation when Will Hillinger, the guardian of the parentless Linus, ends up in prison: Will broke in with the singer Peggy Bloom. Alicia tries everything to save Linus Will from losing custody.

On December 23, you can meet Santa Claus almost anywhere - even on the Berlin-Bayern long-distance bus. But driver Robert, himself wearing a Santa hat, doesn't promise any presents. 25-year-old Felix, a new Berliner, is on his way to snowy Mittenwald to celebrate Christmas with his family and girlfriend. Felix's seatmate Hanna, who is also traveling to Mittenwald to spend the party with her grandmother, has just ended a relationship. Over the next few years, their paths cross again on the Christmas drive home.
