Aiming to become the best tour guide in the industry, Ng Ka-yee sets up a travel agency with his girlfriend Szema Shuk-ching but he goes bankrupt and owes a huge debt after being cheated by others. Ka-yee wishes to pass the last few months of bankruptcy peacefully and start a new chapter with Shuk-ching after marriage. However, Shuk-ching falls in love with his best friend Ching Siu-shan and Ka-yee is devastated. The Academy is a TVB modern drama series broadcast in June 2005. The series follows the lives of a group of new Hong Kong Police recruits as they proceed through training at the Hong Kong Police training school. Michael Miu reprises a new role as a triad boss in E.U., which is unrelated to his role in The Academy.

After losing both parents at a young age, Lai Yat-tsau becomes a parent figure for his three younger sisters. His mother’s death and his father’s fall to drug addiction turned Yat-tsau into a very quick-tempered and chauvinistic man. Originally assigned to the Kwun Tong Police Station, Yat-tsau’s superior transfers him to the K-9 unit to work with police dogs, hoping that the strict training would better shape his character. At this new department, he develops a partnership with veterinarian Ma Chi-ho, who helps him solve cases for the police.

A forensic expert discovers the remains of two murder victims and a baby, claimed to be the orphan child of the deceased. He asks his girlfriend, who has been longing for their own child, to help care for the baby. However, she begins to observe strange behaviors in the child, as if the spirits of the murdered parents are somehow influencing it.

Life Made Simple is a TVB modern drama series broadcast in October 2005. The series is shown to celebrate TVB's 38th Anniversary. The series is an indirect sequel to 2002's Square Pegs. The main cast features Roger Kwok, Jessica Hsuan, and Leila Tong from the original series and new cast including Bosco Wong, and Paul Chun. The indirect sequel takes place in the modern era instead of the ancient setting of its prequel.
