Slavka Adžović owns 170 sheep and goats. She is the only woman in Montenegro who works as a shepherdess and the only Romani in the country who earns her living doing so. She never learned to read or write. But through her love for animals, she still found her way to assert herself as an independent farmer. In addition to her alpine hut on the windy plateau of Krnovo, four calves and 14 cows graze, whose milk she sells. Slavka Adžović tells a modern shepherd's story and her self-determined life between tradition and progress.
