Towards the end of the 19th century, the Duke of Gerolstein traveled to Paris. Sixteen years earlier he had a daughter who was taken from him by her mother who was chased out of the palace. After many dramatic adventures, the Duke finds his daughter in the person of Fleur de Marie, martyred throughout her childhood by the Owl and the schoolmaster.

Les Ailes brisées

Fabrège is a ladies' man. His friend Pascal, at the circle, evokes these conquests, among others Denise Lamblin for whom he fought a duel and this other woman for whom he stayed an entire night, in the pouring rain, under his windows. While the next day they have to take the train together, at the sight of a female figure on the station platform, Fabrège changes trains and sets out to conquer the beautiful stranger. Arrived in Cannes, they go down to the Miramar hotel and their idyll begins.

L'Île aux trente cercueils

The Island of Thirty Coffins is a 1979 French television series based on Maurice Leblanc's novel L'île aux trente cercueils, directed by Marcel Cravenne. It stars Claude Jade as Véronique d'Hergemont, a female protagonist, who is on the run and on searching for her father and her son, involved in horrible adventures on a terrific island. The story proceeds in 1917. Veronique d' Hergemont is a 35-year-old nurse at the military hospital of Besançon. She suddenly learns the assassination of her husband, the mysterious Count Vorski, whom she has not seen for fourteen years. Its research will also lead it on the track of her father and her son whom she believed dead in a shipwreck, it is already a long time.

His Head

Jean Bonnard, clean-cut industrialist and the only son of a widow, goes to visit his mother in the small village where she lives. However, early in the morning the police arrive to arrest him, accusing the man of having murdered the old banker who'd made advances towards his girlfriend. Jean's mother is eager to aid her son, whom she believes is innocent. Said Epstein of his film: "I shot small landscapes in Livilliers which seemed to me-- in their reality, I mean-- very large".

Elizabeth Rockwell is indignant when she finds her château filled with squatters, a widower with five messy children, who have no regard for private property rights. This was the French language version of Pardon My French (aka The Lady from Boston)

Michel Bouquet plays an almost monstrous Tartuffe, whose only weakness lies in his feelings for Elmire.

L'Éducation sentimentale

Miniseries adaptation of Gustave Flaubert's novel. Frédéric Moreau, an eighteen-year-old provincial youth, full of dreams and rather attractive, comes to Paris to study. From 1840 to the evening of the coup d'état in 1851, he learns about the world in a society in turmoil. Along the way, he encounters true love and the contingencies of pleasure, the Revolution and its false apostles, art, the power of money and stupidity, the reversibility of beliefs, brotherly friendship, and the inevitability of betrayal, without ever managing to commit himself to any cause other than that of following the loss of his illusions.
