The film, without ever mentioning the names of the real protagonists of the story (the attacker was the sixteen-year-old Anteo Zamboni , who died on 31 October 1926 after having shot at the Duce, only touching his clothes, stabbed to death and then hanged by fascists of the militia), narrates the events that led to that last attack, then taken as a pretext for the acceleration of the approval of the special law establishing the special tribunal for the defense of the State, the restoration of the death penalty for the crimes of attack on state institutions, and the outlawing of opposition parties with the arrest of their respective militants and leaders.
