Raul, a playboy, marries Sheila and hire Nina, a photographer, to take erotic snapshots of his wife. Nina acquires an interest on Sheila, and through a maid, investigates the couple's intimate life.

After a fall, intelligent young Plácido becomes a little slow. As an adult he works at a bank and his keen intelligence returns when he drinks the soft drink "Super Plá". The big shot Albert returns after three years, reuniting with his family — his parents and his sister. And he gets in touch with some acquaintances, such as his old friend Vitório and a decadent high society woman. And once again Albert, the Rockefeller gets involved with millionaires and opportunists.

A glamorous reception at businesswoman Angela Mahler's mansion attracts high society: businessmen, powerful women, and bons vivants looking for some fun. Unexpectedly, a body is found in the pool and what was a party, becomes a crime scene. Thus begins a frantic hunt for the murderer. Trapped inside the house and in the investigators' crosshairs, all the guests are suspects. The story occurs over a 24-hour period in a web of suspense, ambition, ulterior motive and uncontrollable passion.

The main axis of the miniseries is the story of the couple Mendonça and Maria Rita. The plot begins when Mendonça, a Physics teacher, turns 40. Discouraged with life and dissatisfied with his work, he complains about the routine and lack of prospects. His big dream was to do a postgraduate degree outside of Brazil, but he ended up not taking the project forward and suffers because of it to this day. He also doesn't feel happy in his romantic relationship, having settled into a marriage that has lasted several years. Maria Rita, in turn, is a journalist and is on the rise professionally. In his personal life, he knows that his marriage is not going well and he suffers from his partner's discouragement, but he ends up having a great idea thanks to this crisis: creating an interview program on the station where he works.

Mário Fofoca, a bungling detective, moves to Rio and, with the help of a friend, investigates cases—starting with a wife's suspected infidelity.
