A young girl named Dorothy has gone to live with her grandparents on their small farm. One day when Dorothy is left alone in the house a tornado appears. Dorothy fails to get to the basement in time, and the entire house is picked up and transported to a magical land, falling on and killing a wicked witch. There she is informed by a good witch that she must travel to the Capital of Emerald and meet a great magician who may be able to help her find a way home. Along the way she makes some incredible friends and sees many strange and fantastic things.

Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics is a Japanese animated anthology series by Nippon Animation. The episodes are adaptations of a variety of folk and fairy tales, and not limited to Grimm's Fairy Tales.

This adventure features a brave young boy named Tip, the lovable Jack Pumpkinhead, the gruff wodden Sawhorse, and the evil witch Mombi, who is Tip's guardian. Tip and his amazing friends escape Mombi and head toward the Emerald City, now ruled by the Scarecrow. Joined by Dorothy, who has returned to Oz, they meet General Ginger and her all-female army who are planning to invade and take over their beloved Emerald City. Meanwhile, Glinda, the good Witch, has learned that the original King of Oz had an heir. While battling with the forces of General Ginger, Tip, Dorothy and their friends discover that the rightful ruler of Oz has been amazingly transformed.

The enchantment of L. Frank Baum's classic "Wizard of Oz" books is captured in the exciting Emerald City of Oz, based on the sixth book in Baum's timeless series. The Nome King plots his revent against the Oz people, who narrowly defeated him in "Ozma of Oz." Working with the help of Guph, an invasion specialist, the Nome King and his troops tunnel under the Deadly Desert with the aim of enslaving the people of the Emerald City. Dorothy, the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and their friends fear the worst, as Princess Ozma insists on finding a non-violent solution. Narrated by Margot Kidder, the Lightyear Wizard of Oz series was featured exclusively on HBO.

In Oz once again, Dorothy meets TikTok the mechanical man, servant of Princess Lulu.

Little Lord Fauntleroy, also known as Shoukoushi Ceddie, is a Japanese anime series produced by Nippon Animation in 1988 and was broadcast on the World Masterpiece Theater, an animation staple that showcased each year an animated version of a different classical book or story. The series is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's book, "Little Lord Fauntleroy".
