The three very different men in this film have become friends out of their common dissatisfaction with their lives. Beard is now more or less a street person since his wife left him. Before that, he was a social worker. "Foureyes" is a nebbish science teacher, who can't get anyone to take him seriously -- certainly not his students. He seeks solace in the quiet of the stars, which he views in his telescope at night. Finally, Gerdo is a fellow who is a master of many trades, successful at almost everything he does, except in his own eyes. Each new challenge proves unsatisfying when met. The only thing he wants is the one thing he can't bring about: the return of his old girlfriend, who left him for some boring civil servant. Registration of the first theatre program by the Dutch comedy duo (Erik) van Muiswinkel and (Diederik) van Vleuten. Two men visit the Montignac caves, famous for their prehistoric rock paintings. Diederik van Vleuten thinks he has ended up in the Womb of Western Culture, Erik van Muiswinkel thinks his five-year-old son paints better. They don't agree.

At the end of WWII the Dutch resistance kills a German officer in front of the house of a Dutch family. Years after the war the young boy who witnessed the killing runs into the members of the resistance who committed the killing.

Years ago, Lepel's parents left an hot air balloon world tour. He stays with granny Koppenol, who constantly exploits him for domestic chores, in her buttons shop and even as accomplice in the department store where she steals the buttons from clothes. After she won't even leave him the balloon kind salesman Max gave him, Lepel, now 9, runs away. He meets Max's slightly older daughter Pleun. Schoolmaster Bijts is also looking for him, but only as arithmetics talent for an academic schools contest. Max accidentally finds out the sad truth about Lepel's family.

Mother is dying and invites her family to spend a few days in a chalet in Austria. In the isolation of the snow-covered mountains, old wounds are reopened and the family ties crumble steadily through quarrels and irritations.

Four old college friends in their forties come together in a time of trouble and despair. Old joy relives, but the harsh reality of their problems can't satisfy them and eventually endangers their friendships.

Anna is a vital woman who is married and has two daughters. She picks up her old passion of writing again after frequent requests by a colleague and a friend, but she had not foreseen the consequences of family and friends reading her stories...

Rising, rather autobiographical novelist Giph has a hot girlfriend, doctor and model Samarinde. His crude, domineering and progressive mother Ria's suffering an incurable decease in which she suffers from paraplegia. Her inevitably ensuing death is brought forward with euthanasia. Giph is struggling to handle the situation with his mother. Shortly after his mother has passed he away, he decides to join his fun loving friends on La Palma for a holiday. Complete registration of the anniversary theater program, recorded in April 2003 in the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Leids Cabaret Festival, a performance was created with the participation of more than twenty different comedians, including Wim Helsen, Kees Torn, Sanne Wallis de Vries, Erik van Muiswinkel, and many others.
