The Great Adventure

The Great Adventure is a historical anthology series that appeared on CBS for the 1963-1964 television season. The series, narrated each week by Van Heflin, and featuring theme music by Richard Rodgers, presented a weekly one-hour dramatization of the lives of famous Americans and important historical events in American History.

To the Bitter End

Jorge is a DJ at a Lisbon nightclub. But the club owner, Queirós, who is also involved in diamond traffic, is obsessive over a woman, Cláudia, who betrayed him before. When she unexpectedly returns to Portugal and to the club, Jorge immediately understands Queirós's obsession over her. For her, Jorge also gets involved in diamond traffic and is slowly dragged into a world of passion, violence and betrayal.

One Special Victory

A fact-based story, John Larroquette plays a hotshot executive that ends up in court over a certain charge. He is sentenced to community service. He is assigned to coach a basketball team of mentally handicapped citizens. At first, he is reluctant and thinks selfishly of his own needs. Later on, he finds the real meaning of life which is helping others.

The Ticket

Cee Cee and her family crash land in the middle of the wilderness while on the way to collect a $23 million lottery win, and must flee for their lives after being set upon by criminals eager to steal the money for themselves.

The Dirty Dozen

12 American military prisoners in World War II are ordered to infiltrate a well-guarded enemy château and kill the Nazi officers vacationing there. The soldiers, most of whom are facing death sentences for a variety of violent crimes, agree to the mission and the possible commuting of their sentences.

Half Hour Story

18 short plays written especially for TV, an opportunity for up-and-coming directors such as floor manager Alan Clarke, who ended up doing 10 of the episodes. Some top ranking performers were attracted to the series.

The Saint
