The Trapalhões

Os Trapalhões was a Brazilian comedy group and also a Brazilian television series created by Wilton Franco. Its members were Dedé Santana, Zacarias, Mussum and their leader Didi Mocó, that was played by Renato Aragão. The name Trapalhões is derived from the Portuguese verb atrapalhar, which means the opposite of helping, to do something the wrong way or to Those that confuse. The name is translated "Tramps" in English DVD subtitles. It was aired by Rede Globo from 1977 to 1999. On March 18, 1990, Zacarias died due to respiratory failure, but the group and the series didn't come to an end until July 29, 1994, when Mussum died due to an unsuccessful heart transplant.

TV Pirata

TV Pirata was a weekly Brazilian comedy show aired on Rede Globo between 1988 and 1990, being re-aired monthly in 1992. Some of the writers later went on to form the comedy troupe Casseta & Planeta. The show was first aired in April 1988 to fill a gap on Rede Globo's Tuesday night prime time line-up and its comedy was inspired by sketch comedy shows such as Saturday Night Live and Monty Python's Flying Circus with a no-nonsense approach to Brazilian comedy; however, it mixed a new style of comedy with elements of Brazilian culture such as football, politics, pop culture, telenovelas, economics and celebrities. No well-known figure or member of any economical or social class was spared from the show's cutting edge humor. The premise of the show was a TV studio being invaded by pirates who took over the programming department and put a tape on the air with some "unusual" programming. Another new element to Brazilian audiences was the performers, who weren't the usual comedic actors, but dramatic actors doing more comedic roles.

Casseta & Planeta, Urgente!

Casseta & Planeta is a Brazilian group of comedians who run a TV show named Casseta & Planeta Urgente, broadcast by Rede Globo. The humour featured on the show is mostly satirical, relating to religious or ethical groups, and minorities. The group founded a company called Toviassu Produções Artísticas, whose name is an acronym composed of syllables from the phrase "Todo viado é surdo" – "Every gay is deaf"; which is the ending of a widely known Brazilian practical joke. Each one of the seven members has a specific function within the company. They present their TV show at Rede Globo and publish a website and many books, among other products, for example the "Machobol". Originally a magazine named Casseta Popular and a humour newspaper called O Planeta Diário, the two teams joined forces and were hired by Rede Globo to become writers for the network's comedy shows, starting with TV Pirata in 1988. A few years later, they starred in their own show.

His world will be thrown upside down, when an evil pirate (Perna de Pau) disembark on the island, after kidnapping the little girl Maribel (daughter of a famous captain), in search of Captain's hidden treasure. Three friendly sailors will help to free the girl. Based on a very well known Brazilian children's play.

Casseta & Planeta: Seus Problemas Acabaram!!!

Dr. Botelho Pinto is an idealistic lawyer with a fixed idea: to put an end to Tabajara Organizations once and for all. Before the judge of the First Family Court: First the Mother, Then the Daughter, Botelho accuses the business empire of testing on its favela client Lindauro das Dores a medicine with an unexpected side effect: it awakens in dogs in heat an uncontrollable sexual appetite for the patient.

A Lost Woman

The story of a poor woman living in the backwoods of Brazil and working as a maid. One day she is unfairly fired from the house where she was working and goes to the big city, facing a cruel and hostile world, working in factories, bars and bordellos.

Cedo Demais

When two friends fall in love with the same girl, the situation can be complicated. Especially if that girl is Dora, recently widowed, and if the friends are André and Lucas, childhood friends of Narciso, her late husband. Too soon for Dora to open up to a new love, the two friends begin a fun dispute for a chance at the widow's heart and in the midst of their grief they discover that Narcissus was perhaps not the great friend they thought.

Suspiros Republicanos ao Crepúsculo de um Império Tropical

The film tells a little of the history of Brazil immersed in the caricature of the conditions of making cinema in this country. Flora and Carlos Manoel fall in love. She, from a family linked to the Monarchy, and he, a republican activist, live their love in the last days of the monarchy, without knowing that the end of the empire would also mean the end of their romance.
