An ancient threat resurfaces across the wind-scoured moors of Dartmoor as Morgana Vane, a ruthless dark alchemist, begins harvesting outcast youth to build an army of mutated, synthetic thralls. Standing between her dark science and the vulnerable students of Grimpen Academy is an unlikely, centuries-old alliance: Dr Ignatius Adams, a brilliant, eccentric alchemist armed with custom galvanic weaponry and David Blackwood, a sovereign Pureform Lycan Apex Predator. Joined by an unexpected band of allies, the guardians must descend into a subterranean iron cathedral beneath the granite bedrock to break Vane’s hold and save the next generation.
