In a world where the future is uncertain, everyone lives with a vague sense of anxiety about what lies ahead. The protagonist, Moe Sakuraba (29), is a woman who has managed to break free from that anxiety. With the motto ‘Live happily in the present’, she has deliberately chosen not to take a steady job. Instead, she revels in her daily life, indulging in heavy drinking and overeating, late-night revelry, sleeping in, and impulsive shopping sprees—all without a second thought for the consequences. This is because she has a secret weapon up her sleeve: her ‘self-styled offsetting technique’, inspired by accounting offsetting procedures. No matter how wild she gets, is it really all right as long as she offsets it?!

As Sakiko's mother keeps hurrying her to get married, she decides to move out and rent an apartment with her friend but her friend backs out at the last minute after reconciling with her ex-boyfriend. Just when Sakiko is about to give up, she ends up living with Takahashi under one roof because of their similar values towards romance.
