Set in the underground drug culture that has evolved among alienated Soviet youth, Georgi Gavrilov’s Confession explores the life of a 23-year-old Moscow heroin addict at several intervals over a two-year period.

Growing up in an orphanage, Florin is trying to find his mother Dorina, whom he has not seen for 15 years. His beloved Liza is very jealous of Florin's plans. Having met his mother, an already adult son is trying to understand the person who gave him life and abandoned him. But can a son forgive his mother, who deprived him of a happy childhood?

A Russian man Sergey Matveev is sent on a business trip to New York to deliver an important package to a local businessman. As soon as he arrives in a hotel, he finds himself entrapped by the FBI. They know he used to be a GRU agent and threaten to imprison him if he would not reveal the secret information regarding "the mole". But Matveev escapes right from the hotel room and finds himself on the streets of an unknown city and enters New York city subway to hide away from the FBI. On his way home, he would have to face greedy federal agents and local criminal gangs.

He is opposed by the school principal, who is hiding a fascist agent. With the help of a young teacher and his students, police officers manage to neutralize the criminal.
