Fábio, a mediocre and broke writer, is evicted for unpaid rent and even ends up in jail after a police raid on a brothel. As scandals unfold and secrets come to light — including Candy’s identity as a travesti — Fábio becomes trapped between desire, money, social appearances and his own insecurities, forcing him to confront what he really wants from life.

Brava Gente was a television series aired by TV Globo in Brazil between 2000 and 2003, initially as a special year-end. The program was adapted from stories and national stories, and plays by famous playwrights, screenwriters and signed by a number represented by several actors and actresses. The genres of the stories varied each week with the style of each director or author. Brava Gente in the stories ranged from comedies and dramas. In all 53 episodes were shown, broadcast on Tuesday nights.

'Cuca Legal' tells the story of Mário Barroso, a single aviator involved with three women at the same time: Virgínia, Irene, and Fátima. Virgínia is a wealthy businesswoman obsessed with the direction of her late father's business; Irene is a middle-class young woman who gives private piano lessons; and Fátima is a poor widow. Mário can't decide which of them is the ideal woman to give him a child with a "cool head" (cuca legal). Things get even more complicated when Maria Joaquina, nicknamed Kinu, Virgínia's mother, also catches the aviator's attention. To escape the troubles he constantly gets into, Mário relies on the help of his mother, Dalva, and Jacaré, his great friend.

The story takes place in São Paulo, in the late 1920s, and has Mariano's memories as its starting point. Orphaned, he loses the aunt who raised him and ends up in Madame Iara's brothel, where he meets two people who transform his life: Esmeraldo, a gigolo who loves the good life who becomes his master; and the prostitute Guadalupe, known as Lu, a sweet and extremely sensual woman. Esmeraldo is Lu's boyfriend, whom he loves unconditionally. Mariano enters the couple's lives and ends up falling in love with her, thus forming the love triangle that drives the entire narrative.

On the eve of the premiere of a theatrical superproduction in the city of São Paulo, the assembly team performs the last dress rehearsal. But, mysteriously, the four leading actresses are poisoned. Now, the police will investigate each person related to the play to find out who caused the tragedy.

A nationalist musician, Hélio, plans to stage a samba show at a luxury hotel nightclub. The owner, Ademar, influenced by his daughter Marisa, is only interested in big jazz acts. Hélio, aided by Bebeto and Dorothéia, presents a fake Dorothy Bridge and a Sunday Júnior, parodies of Eartha Kitty and Sammy Davis Junior. While being covered by these fake artists, Hélio searches for a singer for a repertoire based on Carmen Miranda.

Inácio Pororoca is responsible for the local mail in an old west town. One day there comes bandit João Bigode, who kills the sheriff and puts Inácio on his place, just for fun. But Inácio takes his post seriously, and soon the bandits realize they've made a mistake.

Tatá is a typical Rio de Janeiro guy, easy living, hedonistic, living in an apartment in one of those buildings where everything goes, in Copacabana, near the beach. One day a beautiful new neighbor, Teresa, moves into the apartment in front of his, and he falls in love.
