In the early 20th century, the Montes de Oca family—comprising two sisters and a cousin—finds itself entangled in an intense love triangle. Matilde is in love with her cousin Rodrigo, who loves the other sister, Branca Flor; she, in turn, loves a humble fisherman. Upon discovering this, Rodrigo accuses the fisherman of theft, leading to his arrest. The lovestruck cousin’s malice knows no bounds; learning that Branca Flor is carrying the fisherman's child, he waits for the baby to be born so he can make it disappear.

El Niño que Vino del Mar

El Niño que Vino del Mar is a Mexican children's telenovela produced by Mapat L. de Zatarain for Televisa and originally broadcast on Canal de las Estrellas from April 19 to August 27, 1999. Based on the radio serial El pequeño Lord by Olga Ruilópez, it was adapted for television by Lourdes Barrios, Georgina Tinoco, and Dolores Ortega. The telenovela stars Imanol Landeta, Natalia Esperón, and Enrique Ibáñez. The story follows Felipín, a young boy who survives a shipwreck while traveling to reunite with his father, the wealthy Duke of Oriol. The telenovela debuted on 12 October 2009 at 9:00 pm, replacing Sortilegio, and aired for a total of 135 episodes. The final episode was broadcast on 16 April 2010, and the program was replaced with Soy tu dueña. In the United States, the telenovela debuted on 22 February 2010 at 9:00 pm on Univisión, again replacing Sortilegio. However, beginning on 26 April, the program was moved from prime time to the 12:00 midnight time slot.
