Die ProSieben Märchenstunde is a television movie series that has been produced since 2006. It features characters that are exclusively portrayed by German and Austrian comedians and actors. The series is shot in Prague. The screenplays have - amongst others - been written by Tommy Krappweis, Erik Haffner and Norman Cöster who came up with the stories of Bernd das Brot. Additionally, they are directing and have cameo appearances. Many actors use their respective dialect. Die ProSieben Märchenstunde was nominated for the German Comedy Award in the category Best Comedy in 2006. It is also broadcast on Austrian television channel ORF, which is co-producing the series, airing the programme as Die ORF Märchenstunde.

The focus is on the psychologist Stefan Schwab, who after overwork, burnout and divorce is actually just looking for the proverbial “Boarische Rua” ("Bavarian peace") in the tranquil foothills of the Alps. However, this wish is not fulfilled; instead, he is reluctantly drawn into the bloody awakening of ancient legends: children disappear, “sinners” are murdered and archaic legends suddenly take on a deadly relevance.

The last three vampires in the world - Edwin Wolkenstein, his father Vladimor and his brother Günni - are driven out of Transylvania by the vampire hunter Ignaz van Hellbring. Edwin, of all people, knows where they can find shelter: with Edwin's pen pal Fella. Once there, Edwin realizes that Fella has lied to him. She is not the blonde musical beauty, but a nerd girl. But Edwin doesn't go down particularly well with his new classmates either...

Mara Lorbeer, a fifteen year old girl, finds out that she has to save the world because the Norse god Loki is threatening to break free of his chains.

Dörte Brandt has always dreamed of dancing like Baby and Johnny in her all-time favorite film Dirty Dancing. This wish gets on the nerves of everyone around her, but especially her boyfriend Jens, who is absolutely unromantic and thinks nothing of dancing. Nevertheless, he fulfills Dörte's greatest wish and travels with her to Virginia to the original locations of the film.

The two brothers Bobby-John-Joe and Billy-Bob-Earl St. John live with their alcoholic mother on a farm in the Wild West. Suddenly, their missing father Jerry-Lee-Larry reappears. He disappeared twenty years ago with his daughter Jill-Sarah-Mae-Jennifer. He claims that Jill was abducted. But as it turns out, Pa is a wanted crook. Ma St. John sends her sons to town to have him picked up by the sheriff.

Rookie is a German spoof on several movies, e.g, Forrest Gump, Rocky, Rambo, Indiana Jones, Predator, Star Trek, Spider Man and The Wizard of Oz. Story: After a failed career as a boxer, Rookie is going to search for Sam in the Vietnamese jungle.

Chili the Sheep, Briegel the Bush and Bernd the Bread are Robin Hood's 3 faithful helpers. One day he is captured by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Prince John's loyal subordinate, and is threatened with death by hanging! Of course, Chili, Briegel and Bernd cannot accept this and try to save Robin by any means necessary! But do a sheep, a bush and an eternally depressed loaf of bread even stand a chance?
