Happily Ever After?

Urban romantic drama Happily Ever After? depicts six leading characters – middle-aged nobody Poon Sin-yan; perfect wife Cheung Ming-sum; charming guy Kam Shing-kwan; gold digger Lui Ching-lam; helpless and hopeless romantic Lui Ching-hoi; and kidult-cum-dating app player Ching Tin-fai – in a polyamorous relationship love story. And the four chapters are: Divorce, Infidelity, Misplaced Love and Repair. Each episode’s subject corresponds to the related chapter. And the narration is based on the visual perspective of one or two leading characters so as to show different versions of the plot line. Emphasis is placed on those who are preoccupied by switching between narrator, visual perspective and time and space. Moreover, conflict and suspense in the story reflect certain issues in romantic partnerships in real life.

Hong Kong Love Stories

Nice guy designer Chan Tsz-long and his idealist girlfriend Yau Hoi-kei are a typical Hong Kong couple reluctantly living an unsettled life due to land issues. Tsz-long’s two younger sisters Chan Tsz-yan and Chan Tsz-ting are polar opposites. Photographer Tsz-yan keeps indulging in artist Ki Ka-hei’s decadent paradise. Well-behaved and diligent college goddess Tsz-ting adopts a realistic approach when she finds her first love. Tsz-long and Hoi-kei never miss any job opportunity as they want to have their own love nest. The couple move into a 100-square-foot plus subdivided unit after getting married. They not only have to deal with daily inconveniences due to insufficient space but also need to handle emotional issues of their aging parents on both sides. The couple manage to overcome hurdles. But their property dream turns into a nightmare overnight. Ownership of an apartment has somehow caused them to forget how a loving couple should treat each other.

Longtime friends Lau Tak-wing and Chai Hing-chau are eager to be admitted into the Artist Training Programs. In their pursuit for stardom, the pair is joined by Keung Chi-ngan and actress/showbiz baby Wan Chor-yue, among others. Hing-chau struggles to fulfill his ambitions as he’s constantly passed over for roles. Tak-wing becomes an overnight sensation with his most recent role. As their career trajectories go in different directions, their paths continue to inexplicably intersect. As life would have it, their love lives would also take a turn. Tak-wing always has the biggest crush on Chi-ngan’s elder sister Keung Chi-yin. Eventually, he realized his true feelings is with Chi-ngan all along. When Hing-chau finally gets his break with his slapstick comedy routine, his career skyrockets but his relationship with Chor-yue becomes as fragile as ever. To make matters even worse, a feud over contract renewals push Tak-wing and Hing- chau to the tipping point of ending their friendship……
