The Ibiza Affair

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Prague 1942. The city is occupied by German troops. As the end of the war and the advancing Russian army comes ever nearer, the Czech chief inspector Beran and his assistant Jan Morava are hunting a serial killer. During his investigation, every step Morava takes is observed by Gestapo man Erwin Buback. Buback’s brief is to report to his Nazi superior Meckerle how closely the Prague police is linked to the Czech resistance movement. Then the Soviet troops reach Prague and in the armed rising against the occupiers even the most innocent become murderers.

The bloody trail leads the quick-witted duo to Vienna, where psychologist Helene Berger has received a package containing a severed thumb—the story of the "thumb-sucker." This makes her part of a bizarre psychological game, for every murder is preceded by a riddle from the murderer...

Hannes Brahm's life is marked by problems. Not only is he struggling with unemployment, but his marriage is also on the rocks. His wife Claudia also accuses him of not even taking care of their daughter Maria. The situation comes to a head after Maria disappears during a visit to a media market.
