Discover the history of the Chic Show ball, an iconic black music party in São Paulo. The event was a milestone in the life of São Paulo. Held in halls across the city in the 1970s and 1980s, the show became a meeting point for black culture and opened up space for funk, soul, rap and pagode, among other rhythms. The party welcomed names such as Tim Maia, Sandra de Sá, Gilberto Gil, Djavan, Bebeto and Carlos Dafé, as well as international artists such as Kurtis Blow, Betty Wright and James Brown.

Dona Onete – This Tiny Piece of My Heart

A teacher, activist, and guardian of Amazonian knowledge, Dona Onete became a music star at 72, but her story began much earlier. In this documentary filmed among the rivers and forests of Pará, Onete sings of the banzeiros (drums), the dolphins, and the flavors of the forest with humor and wisdom in a celebration of the living Amazon that pulsates in her voice.

A samba singer, communist party activist and the second black deputy elected in the history of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, she transformed her life into a fight for more diversity. As she herself says, "samba is Brazil's identity card".
