Ladies of the Law

Armed Reaction is a 1998 Hong Kong modern cop drama produced by TVB. The drama stars Bobby Au-yeung and Esther Kwan as the main leads with Joyce Tang, Marco Ngai, Mimi Chu and Joe Ma in main supporting roles. The drama takes place before 1997 Handover of Hong Kong and Royal Hong Kong Police revolves around the lives of two police woman, one who works leisurely behind desk duty but has to take her job more seriously once her husband leaves her and a new rookie cop who is deemed too ambitious and rash by her superior.

The story follows the lead characters through their experiences as members of the Police Negotiation Cadre (PNC). The PNC is a volunteer unit of the Hong Kong police force specializing in negotiations with terrorist members, partakers of local violence, and individuals contemplating suicide. The whole series is dotted with both large and small cases handled by the story's heroes and heroines.

Four scholarly people who find love. There is the smart and dashing Tang Bo Hu played by Nick Cheung. Greedy Chu Tse San (Bobby), noble and honest Wen Jing Ming (Gordon), and the guy who goes a long Chow Wen Bing (Macro).

To escape from an unwanted marriage, Princess Sing Ping flees from the Palace and wanders into the squalid "Cheung Lok Fong" where she meets Kwok Oi. Kwok Oi is humourous and knowledgeable. Princess Sing Ping and Kwok Oi go through a lot of difficulties and eventually fall for each other. They get married and move back to the palace. However, Kwok Oi is framed by villains in the palace and is wronged by the Princess. He is sent away and the Princess is to remarry a foreign prince. Will Kwok Oi and the Princess reconcile?

Apliu Street is the epitome of Hong Kong. With the ups and downs of Hong Kong's economy, it has also experienced a prosperous golden age and has become a second-hand goods trading market. Before the financial turmoil, Dai Shaoliang’s high-end audio store was the largest in Alia Street. His friend Cheng Dazhi has a net worth of more than tens of millions due to speculation. After the financial turmoil, Shaoliang's business has deteriorated, and Dazhi has become negative equity. Only the two friends, Guan Bingren, are down to earth and remain unaffected. Although the three of them have different backgrounds, they have a close friendship. Love football, a three-person team, even dubbed the "Three Heroes of Duck" in the district.

Sing Gwok-dung is upset when he is transferred from the Anti-Serious Crime and Triad Organization to the frivolous Anit-Swindler Unit. He is reluctant to cooperate with his new superior Gong Yut-guk, but changes his attitude when his idol, Inspector Lam Zi-ho, commits suicide. Conned by swindlers, Zi-ho is in heavy debt. He has no way out but to kill himself. Gwok-dung is determined to avenge for Zi-ho, but when he and Yut-guk trace the cause of Zi-ho's death, they are unprepared for what they discover.

In December 1974, a 16-year-old girl was murdered after borrowing a phone at an ice cream shop. The next day, her naked body was found hidden in a TV box on the street. The only suspect in the case was the owner of the ice cream shop, Au-Yeung Wing Cheung.
