25-year-old Sibel lives with her father and sister in a secluded village in the mountains of Turkey’s Black Sea region. Sibel is a mute, but she communicates by using the ancestral whistled language of the area.

While helping tend her family’s herd of cows in a northern region of Senegal, a 13-year-old girl faces changes that threaten her tight bond with her father in this vividly realized directorial debut by screenwriter and filmmaker Ramata-Toulaye Sy.

Rwanda, 1973. In the prestigious catholic institute 'Notre-Dame du Nil', perched on a hill, young Rwandan girls study to become the elite of the country. In the process of graduating, they share the same dormitory, the same dreams, the same problems of teenage girls. After his mother develops cancer from dépigmentation, Khalilou fights toxic beauty standards. Disguised as Leila, he enters the "Miss Students" pageant, where light skin reigns, to give dark-skinned girls a chance to shine.

Mounir, a cybersecurity expert, sees his life change on his thirtieth birthday. Jealous of his mother's love for his brother, Awa, his deceased twin sister, returns to torment her brother in the hope of remaining in the world of the living with her mother.
