A young man, on the advice of an agent, lies that he is married, to go to London. But his visa application is rejected and now, he has to follow-up with a string of lies to hide one lie.

Karthik, is from a middle-class family and is doing his MCA final year. He is an outstanding student with high ambitions. He works part-time in a courier company and takes care of his expenses. He also yearns for beautiful classy girls. Anbu Selvi is from a rural landlord's family and is doing her B.Com in Trichy. Her pranks and her outgoing personality makes her father Rathnam fear that she might bring disrepute to the family name and so he decides to give her in marriage to his friend's son, Karthik.

Vellai is a farmer from an economically self-sufficient village. But when he and the villagers take a bank's crop loan, they get caught in debt due to drought and low prices for crops. So few desperate farmers migrate to the city in search of a job. Can they pay off their debt? Or will they give up farming?

Velu, who works in a tea shop, fights for justice for his 9-year-old daughter, who has been subjected to sexual assault by two influential upper-caste men during a festive season.. However, when he realizes that people he trusts wanted to cover this up, he decides to fight for justice with the help of his Marxist-leaning friends.

Saravanan comes to Singapore for a job but lands in trouble, loses his passport and is on the run. Desperate to get back home, he accepts the job of taking a girl to India in return for a hefty sum.

6 Athiyayam is an anthology that has 6 stories helmed by 6 different directors. All the stories are based on different genres and are penned in a manner that the movie caters to all the sections of the audience with different artists playing the lead. The stories are correlated and the climax of each story is revealed only in the finale that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Periyar joins the Indian struggle for independence after being disgusted by the injustices of the Hindu caste system. Later, he begins fighting for the rights of Tamilians.
