A student is working part-time on a canal boat in Amsterdam and a young director wants to make a film about her.

Six friends from college in post-war Europe form a bond. Thirty years on, one of them writes a book on it, calling it the tombstone to their friendship, exposing their bond, analyzing, then totally destroying the false imprints of their alleged connections. In 1939, Charlotte Salomon leaves Berlin to seek refuge at her grandparents' villa in the south of France. A little later, war breaks out, and Charlotte must, besides forgetting all she left behind, deal with her grandmother's depression, and her mother's suicide. To fight despair, Charlotte starts to paint, producing over one thousand images. "Is my life real, or is it theater?" This is the title she gives her body of work, which highlights her former life in Berlin. She finds herself though her art, but in 1943 is deported to Germany and Auschwitz.

A husband, half of an entertainment duo, the Nellicos, tells his wife, who is the other half of the duo, that he has another woman. But they cannot discuss this as he tells her only just before they are due to perform in front of a large audience. (BFI)

Biopic about the early years of pioneering aircraft manufacturer Anthony Fokker. After a fight with his teacher, headstrong Anthony Fokker refuses to return to his old school in Haarlem. Instead, he goes to a technical college in Mainz where he talks his teachers into including airplane design in the curriculum. Fokker soon starts building a prototype of his 'Spider' plane.

Playwright and director Nils Wijn brings his relationship issues to the stage. In his play "The Whore, the Virgin, and the Dying Man," he has his girlfriend Tessa appear in revealing lingerie and takes her to a real prostitute for some practical lessons. This is too much for the actress. Their problem turns out to be contagious, as other members of the theater company also get into arguments with their partners.

Nico and Leo are getting married. Their entire family and both their exes are in attendance. Some of these are performing musical numbers on stage. But memories of the war and the fact that Leo's mother died in a concentration camp keeps coming to the forefront.

A romantic drama partially set in Amsterdam, this standard tale starts out in a mining area in Holland where conditions are about as rough as they get. Two of the miners, Italians Federico and Vincenzo take off together for the city's red-light district, where the women pose in windows for prospective customers. There the duo meet Else and Carrel who are willing to leave their windows to spend a weekend at a resort with the two men. Soon Else has fallen in love with Vincenzo and the future of the two hookers, as well as the miners, seems to look brighter.

After her mother -- a prostitute -- is murdered by her father, Sien is raised by her grandparents. Instead of a bourgeois life with grocer's son Gerrit van Buren, she chooses for an adventurous life with toutman Jan Meier. She follows him and becomes a revue artist in an Amsterdam cabaret, until her father comes to see her...
