Desert Lights

Alicia (39) has not been able to feel comfortable with her body since she had a mastectomy after breast cancer. After a domestic unforeseen event, she meets her new neighbor Lucia who will help her in her process of rediscovery and acceptance.

Rafael Egaña (38) will soon be blind. With us, he makes the journey of the images that his father, an amateur photographer, has collected for more than 50 years. These images are memories, but what happens to them when vision is lost, do they disintegrate along with the visible world or do they become clearer because new ones can no longer be generated?

Set in Valparaíso during 1953 and 1954, the story follows Alba (Fernanda Finsterbusch)—one of the first women to study medicine in Chile—and Zahira (Carmen Zabala), the heiress to a family linked to drug trafficking who runs the brothel "La Joya". Their paths cross, sparking a bond and a romance that defy the prejudices and social norms of the era.
