Enemies Within

The film follows Finnish army machine gun company in Continuation War against Soviet Union, 1941–1944. Based on Väinö Linna's best selling novel Tuntematon Sotilas (The Unknown Soldier) and the novel's uncensored version, Sotaromaani (A War Novel).

Märät säpikkäät on suomalainen viihde- ja komediasarja, jossa saamelaisneidot Suvi ja Kirste saapuvat Lapista Helsinkiin ja tutkivat helsinkiläisyyttä erilaisista näkökulmista. Sarja sisältää haastatteluja, sketsejä sekä parodioituja musiikkivideoita, joissa on sanoitettu suomalaisia hittejä uudelleen pohjoissaameksi. Sarjan käsikirjoituksesta ovat vastanneet pääosanesittäjät Suvi West ja Anne Kirste Aikio sekä Veera Ikonen. Pääohjaajana toimi Oskari Sipola. Joulukuun puolivälissä 2011 sarja keräsi huomiota jo ennen alkamistaan julkaisemalla musiikkivideon "Leivämuruseni". Kappale on pohjoissaamenkielinen parodia Jenni Vartiaisen hitistä Missä muruseni on. Linkki levisi yhteisöllisissä viestimissä sekä lehtien verkkosivuilla, ja pian videolla oli YouTubessa yli 100 000 katsojaa.

The director Lauri Nurkse tells that Veijarit is a film about "arjensietokyvyttömyys" (= inability to tolerate everyday life) and about the Peter Pan complex. The main actor Mikko Leppilampi says it's about "kolkyttoistavuotiaat" (= thirtyeenagers = people of thirty behaving like teenagers). An immediate reference point is the commedia all'italiana of the 1950s and the 1960s, the black comedy often exposing the infantile stage of development of the Italian male. Saku and Ässä are anti-heroes, but we never fail to sense the humanity behind their shallow and crazy ways. Veijarit is a satire and a parody of a superficial way of life, but there is a vitality in the protagonists that we feel can lead them to a more meaningful stage of existence after the prolonged youth full of sound and fury. There is a motif of transcendence in the imagery of flying: will the balloons carry me or will they burst.

Summer begins, Aku graduates high school and faces a great emptiness. As his girlfriend, parents and friends all leave the city, it looks to be the dullest summer ever. Everything changes at Midsummer when Aku meets Juli, a beautiful, strange and wild girl. Juli asks Aku for a ride to eastern Finland. Aku agrees – without any idea what he's getting himself into.

Raised in a small town, Antti and Suvi meet at a house party and fall in love, start a band and move to the capital. The more successful the band is, the worse their relationship gets. Their relationship ends and the band breaks up. Suvi becomes internationally successful solo artist Summer Maple. When Antti meets the determined Elisa, who aspires to become a lawyer, there is the promise of a new direction in life. But Suvi and music won't leave him alone. One night, Antti's doorbell rings: Suvi has come to ask him to come with her to New York to record a new album.
