Between 1995 and 2001 in southern France, a teenage girl vanishes and three young women are murdered—sparking a relentless manhunt that will haunt detective Flore Robin and the Perpignan police for years.

Sira, a former refugee, works as a translator for OFPRA (the French Office for the Protection of Stateless Persons and Migrants). She unscrupulously fleeces her clients, selling them fictions she creates to convince the authorities.

Alice has lost her father and one leg in a car accident. She lives with her mother (Jeanne) and grandfather in a farm. Summer holidays start and she can't go to the sea with other children of the village. Then she meets Vincent, a younger boy who stayed in the village as well, and Alain, the mayor's son who's back in town to train his athleticism female club. Alice would like to run with her prosthesis but Jeanne doesn't want her to run nor to approach Alain.

A quiet community is devastated by the murder of a teenage supporter during a local football match.

Three siblings lose both their parents after a terrible accident, after which their lives are forever changed. Vincent, the middle child, has to assume a lot of responsibility, not the least of which is his younger sister Alice. He must also give up his architecture course in order to work for his uncle's construction firm. The two adjust, and their life goes pretty well before it is again turned upside down when their older brother Thomas, who had been in Brazil for a couple of years, returns and upsets the current order.
