Canadians in search of the national identity will not find it fully fleshed in this film. An animated cartoon, it sees Canadians as pragmatists, adaptable to whatever climate or history place in their way. It is a boisterous, bubbling analysis of the Canadian character and, although it may not answer the question of the title, it does leave the feeling that being Canadian is not so exhausting as one might expect.

Olivia's only friends at Orderly Mansion are Charlie the Horse and Barnaby the Stablehand. When Olivia wants her own special birthday song, Barnaby makes her one, but Snitch the Evil Caretaker tries to keep her from hearing it. The story of one girl's search for the perfect birthday song features the voices of rock star Roger Daltrey as Barnaby and Ed Asner as Charlie the friendly horse.

How he is jolted into the metric age, and how he discovers its advantages, makes an amusing cartoon screen adventure for anyone who sees George's problem but, like him, resists the idea of change to a simpler way of figuring the size and weight of things.

The enchantment of L. Frank Baum's classic "Wizard of Oz" books is captured in the exciting Emerald City of Oz, based on the sixth book in Baum's timeless series. Working with the help of Guph, an invasion specialist, the Nome King and his troops tunnel under the Deadly Desert with the aim of enslaving the people of the Emerald City. Dorothy, the Tin Woodsman, the Scarecrow and their friends fear the worst, as Princess Ozma insists on finding a non-violent solution. Narrated by Margot Kidder, the Lightyear Wizard of Oz series was featured exclusively on HBO.

Meanwhile, Glinda, the good Witch, has learned that the original King of Oz had an heir. While battling with the forces of General Ginger, Tip, Dorothy and their friends discover that the rightful ruler of Oz has been amazingly transformed.

With a new twist on an old holiday, Intergalatic Thanksgiving or Please Don't Eat the Planet is a delightful animated special combining space age fantasy with the old and revered traditions that make Thanksgiving a great festive holiday.
