What Are You Anyways?

An animator finds a unique way to deal with the fact that yellow sticky notes are taking over his life.

For the first time in Canadian history, 15 of Canada’s most acclaimed independent animators have come together to create a collaborative animated film. Yellow Sticky Notes | Canadian Anijam is an innovative and global approach to animation filmmaking and unites animators from coast to coast, from Vancouver to Halifax and all parts in between, to self reflect on one day of their lives using only 4x6 inch yellow sticky notes, a black pen and animation meditation.

An important human story told from the perspective of mixed race blood cancer patients who are forced to reflect on their multiracial identities and complex genetics as they struggle with a seemingly impossible search to find bone marrow donors, all while exploring what role race plays in medicine.

In Mission Merry Christmas, when a Christmas wishes tree brings together morning show host Michael (Donovan) and artist/designer, Mia (Murray), they set out on a holiday mission to make a child’s Christmas dreams come true. Teaming up with Michael’s daughter, Daphne, and Mia’s son, Cruz (Lopez), the two families race across Buffalo in search of the season’s most sought-after toy – The Golden Gliders. Along the way, festive adventures, unexpected challenges and the spirit of the season draw Michael and Mia closer, proving the greatest gift is finding love and family when you least expect it.
