A factory owner cheats on his wife and attempts to stamp out a revolt against poor working conditions.

Remake of the English movie Ghost Train (1931, Walter Forde). Seven people are stranded for a stormy night at a remote, unmanned railroad station past which, every midnight, steams the "ghost" of a train which wrecked there 20 years ago.

A young woman, a prisoner who was set up to steal by her lover, is in jail. She would like to see her sweetheart. One night she succeeds in persuading the doctor of the prison who also is a woman, to be released. She finds the man, a waiter in an elegant hotel, behaving as a cynical Don Juan. He was preparing to rob the safe of the hotel and go away with his new lover, a dancer.

This earliest surviving Romanian horror-thriller is distinctly un-Romanian in several ways: an adaptation of Arnold Ridley’s play of the same name (best known through its 1941 film version starring Arthur Askey), TRENUL FANTOMĂ was shot in Hungary as an alternate-language version of KÍSÉRTETEK VONATA (1933), with both films using footage taken from the 1931 British movie adaptation.
