A family that was severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake that struck in March 2011, and a family that escaped the disaster. The film depicts the collapse and rebirth of two families whose children were supposed to marry each other. A moving drama written by Yamada Taichi and starring Nakai Kiichi, Kuroki Meisa and Kamiki Ryunosuke.

Set in 900AD and tells the story of a famous female writer of the time, Murasaki Shikibu. Her story begins from the death of her husband, a Japanese noble, then moves on to her recruitment to train the Prince's young 'wives in waiting'. It is dotted throughout and actually composed mainly of one of the fictional stories she wrote, the tale of Genji. Genji is a rich playboy who falls in love and has a son to his stepmother. He falls in love often and has many wives whom are all completely subservient to him.

The drama depicts the crisis of a couple in the midst of a malaise, the anguish of their children as they grow into adulthood, the disintegration of their family, and finally the collapse of their house due to water damage.

After her boyfriend, cellist Yuji (Arthur Kuroda), was taken away by a classmate, Marie takes a leave of absence from music college and begins receiving treatment. Around that time, Marie met Kiriko (Yuko Tanaka), who worked at the same factory. Marie felt a strange attraction to Kiriko, a mysterious woman she had only spoken to a few times. However, Kiriko suddenly quit the factory for some reason, and a few days later, she approached Marie with a peculiar request for advice…
