Osman Abdel Basit is a Nubian man working in a school who tries to get three pounds to pay his mortgage, which is due , otherwise he will lose his house. He moves from one job to another, and from one chance to the next to get the three pounds.

The sandwich seller (Shalom) is surprised that he has inherited a fortune from his aunt who lives in the city of Damanhour, so he decides to travel there. While riding the train, he meets the football player (Sayed) who offers to help him become a player as well. (Kellan) asks (Shalom) to manage the restaurant he owns for him, so (Shalom) decides to manage the restaurant to serve the athletes.

The owner of an inn instructs one of his employees to find an interpreter, but the man returns with Farhat, a naïve country bumpkin who only causes confusion among the hotel's guests. Dr. Helmy, who is staying at the hotel, asks Farhat to impersonate him in order to test the feelings of his fiancée, Nona. Posing as Dr. Helmy, Farhat travels to Alexandria, where the young woman lives.

Shalom, a lottery salesman, and Abdo, a butcher's boy, are friends and live together in the same house. One day, the owner of the butcher shop dies, leaving his boy Abdo the shop and all his money. Abdo divides the inheritance between himself and his friend Shalom. This helps each of them marry his fiancée and start their own businesses.

The film's events revolve around the lawyer Mumtaz, who loves flirting with women, despite his marriage, and continues to cheat on his wife, until she decides to teach him a lesson in agreement with her friend, where she pretends to be cheating on him with another man. Will Mumtaz be fooled and believe his wife's betrayal of him? Or will he understand the lesson and stop cheating on her?

Othman works as a bank collector and lives a quiet life, but his mother-in-law makes his life miserable. One night, he drinks too much and dreams that a gang has robbed him to steal the money he has in his possession, and that he has become accused and escaped from the police while dressed as a woman. Will the dream become reality?

After he neglects his work, the phone operator Osman is fired for being preoccupied with his sweetheart, the maid Yasmina. When he goes to a new job, he discovers that everyone has him confused with Ali Bey, the company's owner, due to their resemblance, a fact that he exploits to his advantage.

Fatima is a poor wife married to Hamido the sailor. Due to financial constraints, she pawns her jewelry to cover household expenses. She meets Umm Mahmoud, who is often away from home for work. The servant (Othman) falls in love with one of the servants. Her mistress finds out and fires them both. (Othman) works in many professions but does not achieve success. In the end, he works as a telegraph deliverer. Due to his extreme laziness, he delays the delivery of an important telegram to a wealthy man, which disrupts a deal on the stock exchange. The stock exchange flourishes and the wealthy man makes a lot of money. He looks for (Othman) to reward him.

After struggling to find work, Osman gets a job as a guard, but when the store gets robbed, Osman is fired. Meanwhile, Azzouz, the store owner, and Osman develop a friendship. Both are shocked to discover that Osman looks very similar to head of the thieves gang

An American tourist and his daughter, Betty, arrive in Alexandria, where they meet Shalom, a lottery-ticket vendor who pretends to be an interpreter despite knowing no English. Mistaking him for a genuine translator, the tourist and his daughter hire Shalom as their guide. When the tourist expresses a desire to go on a desert hunting expedition, one of the local pashas offers to take him along, leaving Betty behind with Shalom, who convinces himself that she has fallen in love with him.

Al Mandoubain (المندوبان) is a classic 1934 Egyptian comedy film. Directed and written by the pioneer Togo Mizrahi, the film follows the comedic misadventures of Shalom and his friend as they desperately search for money and romance.
