After he is diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour, and told he has only three to six months to live, wannabe actor-cum-professional conman Shen Mo decides to spend his remaining time doing something more meaningful and for the benefit of society. In the past he has helped the police on several cases, though always kept a low personal profile; now he has decided, with his geeky partner Du Yu, to personally infiltrate some local criminal gangs, including one, led by Yao Dezhi, that sells fake medical supplies and another, led by gangster Jia, that practises phone scams.

The Suspicious centers around a mysterious pharmaceutical company and its new drug that cures insomnia. The owner Li attempts to sell his company to a Japanese businessman, but the businessman only has eyes on the formula of his new drug. Joe portrays An Qi’er, a senior secretary who strikes an ambiguous relationship with Lin Yitai, an insomniac general sales manager at the pharmaceutical company. Portraying an extremely cold, evil and manipulative character, Joe said she has finally fulfilled her wish to portray a completely different character from past roles.

Senior provincial detective Yuan Lai collaborates with city investigators on a child abduction case. When kidnappers discover their hostage's billionaire lineage, escalating danger ensnares law enforcement. The seasoned officer deciphers the plot, rescues the trapped officers, and captures the hidden ringleader, culminating in case resolution within the 72-hour deadline.
