Based on actual events in 1982, the film recreates a hostage-taking in Switzerland. Four men storm the Polish embassy: a criminal, a crazed killer, a student and an idealist. When the embassy is stormed by the police, the four captors react differently.

The heroes of the series are women employed in various positions in one workplace - each episode tells about one of them. Eight women of different ages, in different life situations, have various problems, experience the troubles and joys of everyday life in their own way.

Katowice, the second half of the 1980s. All the inhabitants of the city watch the movie "The Sinful Life of Franciszek Buła" on television, and two policemen, Karlik and Lucek, patrol empty streets. They reach a TV lounge where they catch two burglars red-handed. Unfortunately, they inadvertently look at the screen and succumb to the magic of the film. Meanwhile, the thieves, taking advantage of their inattention, run away. Police officers pay for staring by losing their job. Just like the heroes of the film, they decide to form a traveling troupe of singers and comedians, calling it "Our Kara".

Mr. Samochodzik with his friend Joanna and her son Piotr are going on vacation to a mountain village. Peter dreams of adventures, and his imagination is focused on discovering weirdness. Here he eavesdrops on a conversation which shows that a man and a woman are planning a murder. It turns out, however, that the mysterious man is the author of crime novels Mr. Arizona, who uses the advice and ideas of his servant Sophia. The mistake is explained, Mr. Samochodzik, Joanna and Piotr gain new friends and thanks to them they meet the Italian film crew making the film in this area. Unfortunately, a real misfortune falls on the filmmakers: the main role star - beautiful Diana - mysteriously disappears. There is a break in shooting. The producer of the film seems distraught, but Mr. Arizona suspects that the actress's disappearance is an advertising gimmick. The friends start investigating on their own.

Three construction workers live together in a tiny apartment while building a new factory. When their foreman, Kolecki, is fired for neglecting his professional duties, the trio bands together to keep the production on course.

During the USSR's rule over Poland, highlander Józef Placek and his family have to convince the government that his late mother is, in fact, alive. If successful, they will be able to pocket the gifts that have been issued to her for reaching the ripe old age of 100, thus inspiring his neighbor's, Kadela's, jealousy.

The end of the 1930s. Wilek Lizoń, a true-blue Silesian, together with his troupe of actors and circus performers, stages a play in the courtyards of miners' tenement houses. The main character is Franciszek Buła, a figure from folk tales. Buła's story begins during the Silesian Uprisings. The courtyard artists present vivid images of Frank's school years, his work in the mine, his communist activities, his imprisonment, and his constant poverty. Fantasy mixes with reality.

The authorities in favor of the Nazis are trying to restore order in a small town in Silesia. Their actions are fiercely resisted by a small group of residents.

Documentary record of the first shift in Wujek coal mine in Silesia in 1962. We observe the course of events from the perspective of the mine's dispatcher at a modern desktop. We see one man, but the whole first shift crew is working.

The camera visits Jerzy Noskiewicz, an ornithologist, the host of a bird reserve on Lake Świdwie in the Szczecin province. Nature is an equal protagonist of the film, but the camera follows the guide, Noskiewicz. He settled in the bosom of nature, on Lake Świdwie in the Szczecin province. The ornithologist’s nickname among the local residents was "The Sheriff". He examined the local birds himself and with his students since the 1950s. He was a pioneer in the field of bird protection in Western Pomerania.

A balloon flight with Zbigniew Burzyński, the pioneer of ballooning in our country, and his wife became a great opportunity to take picturesque shots of the Polish landscape from a bird's eye view. Zbigniew Burzyński (1902-1971) is the pioneer of ballooning in Poland, a balloon constructor and double winner of the Gordon Cup – the International Ballooning Competition. In the 1960s, he tried to reactivate the discipline, for example in Czechoslovakia. A balloon flight with Burzyński and his wife became a great opportunity to take picturesque shots of the Polish landscape from a bird's eye view. From the ground, soldiers, farmers and children send greetings to the couple. The human world seems to be idyllic. It looks like a part of the greater world order, friendly to those who dared to soar up.
