A condensed version of the 28-episode martial arts TV show. Martial arts star Wu Jing is The Master of Tai Chi! Long before he found fame on the big screen with blockbusters like Invisible Target and SPL, Wu Jing made his beginning steps into the entertainment industry with this period drama. Co-directed by renowned filmmaker and action choreographer Yuen Woo Ping, the 1997 drama The Master of Tai Chi is Wu Jing's first television drama, marking the start of this humble martial artist's star-making journey. Appropriately enough, The Master of Taichi is also the story of a journeyman, following the protagonist's transformation from willful kung fu novice to respected tai chi master.

Samurai and Smiling Sam are two famous martial arts masters in Central China. On the night before the big martial arts competition, someone murders the Empress, and the two swordsmen are framed for the crime. Determined to clear their name, they soon uncover a heinous plot that must be stopped. Meanwhile, a third swordsman, Big Knife, tries to track the pair down so he can join their fight.

Wuwechimato journeys to China to learn Chinese kung fu but finds himself on board a boat filled with Japanese pirates whose only mission is plunder and pillage. When he intervenes on behalf of an adolescent Chinese girl about to be kidnapped, he is targeted by the pirates while also assumed by the Chinese villagers to be one of the pirates. Only when the girl hides him and teaches him some of her language, does he manage to convince other important villagers of his innocence.

Wong Fei Hong (Wong Kwan) must fight against slave trader Master Eleven (Ji Chun Hua) and Prefect Wu to stop the Chinese being sold as slaves work in the gold mines in America.

Jiang Shang experienced a catastrophe as a child and was taken in by the bar owner Xin Zi after being separated from his only family and sister. Because his sister was a bartender, Jiang Shang is very talented in bartending, but she can't make out her favorite "Yu Linglong" wine. While working as a bartender, Jiang searched for his sister's whereabouts. Finally, he met his sister in a "comparison" with bartenders in the bar industry. The two brothers and sisters recognized each other and won the competition and saved Xin Zi's bar.
