Helen continuously looks for reasons to doubt Dick, causing friction in their young marriage. The final straw occurs when Helen walks in and catches Dick and Alma in what looks like an incredibly compromising position. Believing her marriage is over, Helen threatens to file for a divorce. However, Alma’s actual fiancé arrives just in time to clear up the confusion, explain the innocent context of the situation, and completely reconcile the newlyweds.

SAL OF SINGAPORE was nominated for an Oscar for achievement in Writing during the second year of the Academy Awards. The film, being a part-talkie, nearly disappared from view. However, a preservation print does exist at UCLA, although it is unavailable for public viewing, awaiting restoration.
