Autumn from Antonio Vivaldi “The Four Seasons”

A series of 16 "short stories" created by the creator's group Images Forum.

The boys are rehearsing a dance for their traditional initiation ceremony into adulthood; their teacher instructs them. A girl observes the scene but is not allowed to join in. When one of the boys chases after a strange bird, she follows him without knowing why. One day, the boy will no longer be able to see the bird either.

A huge pig lies by a house. The family of the house go about their everyday life, pretending to ignore the pig’s existence.

Everybody is excited to see the arrival of spring. This film tries to depict the excitement spring brings.

Once we called the noble, profound and mysterious existence The Great. We have moved with the time, our thought and consciousness has changed. And yet what makes us still keep calling it The Great?

We try to enrich ourselves through prayer, faith and devotion to someone or something ‘other’. Similarly, we believe in the existence of ‘anomalies’, such as unknowable and uncontrollable monsters. But can such beliefs advance us?

How was this made? Why? For what purpose and using what materials? What is this anyway? There are lots of things we need to find out about.

After losing his cat Nyago, young Naoki’s consciousness isn’t ready to let go of his beloved companion just yet. Diagnosed, institutionalised and heavily medicated, he enters a system that dulls his mind and threatens their precious bond.

Initially shown off at the "GeGeGe no Kitarou Tribute Art Exhibition Kitarou EXPO", which was an art exhibition in Japan commemorating the 100th anniversary of mangaka Shigeru Mizuki's birth. The animation directed by Atsushi Wada was later released publicly onto the Toei Animation Beyond YouTube Channel on March 12, 2024.
