We see a creature motionless on the ground, under mucus with just enough power to breathe. To survive, an apparently impossible challenge lies in the prospect: Getting up.

When the Polish au pair Karina goes grocery shopping with the family's children, she notices that the mother does not trust her with her PIN code. A small rift appears in the bond of trust between Karina and the family, with all its consequences.

Lotte Bax analyses a night in which she fell victim to senseless violence. Teaming up with first-time director and sister Fleur and their other sister Sophie, Lotte tries to construct an alternative ending to this night, while discussing the consequences and associated fear. At the same time, astronomer Annelotte Derkink examines a supernova: a cosmic explosion. This way, Lotte and Annelotte both investigate a nocturnal event that leaves deep marks. Can they mould the night to their will?

A short film based on the short story "De Binocle" by Dutch writer Louis Couperus. It tells the story of a nervous man who on one evening while going to the opera becomes the victim of his own obsessive thoughts.
