Six crippled kung fu students are each given an Imperial Decree starting an anti-Ching rebellion, and are instructed to deliver them to the Commander-in-Chief.

Xiaofeng is selling medicinal herbs in Longshan Temple, but is at first driven away by Taiwanese peddlers upset by the intrusion of a mainlander into their business. Later, Xiaofeng auditions for a radio station, where a young Taiwanese man is attracted to her and finds he is soon in competition with a photographer from a mainland family.

The young Bruce Lee (Ho Tsung-Tao AKA Bruce Li) has studied the philosophy and art of kung fu since boyhood, but his girlfriend says that he lives in a world of his own and all he thinks of is fighting.
