Ten Days That Shook the World

TV adaptation of Nikolai Chernyshevsky's novel about Vera Pavlovna, a woman who escapes the control of her family and arranged marriage to seek economic independence.

Based on the play of the same name by Aleksandr Kravtsov, staged by the Moscow Drama Theatre named after K.S. Stanislavsky. The protagonists of the play — Darya Vlasyevna and Nikodimovna — share a room in a communal apartment. These women endured great hardship during the years of the Great Patriotic War. Yet throughout their lives, they preserved their faith in kindness and justice, always ready to help those in need.

Former front-line soldier Ivan Ivanovich Klimov, a responsive and obliging man, works as a carpenter in a collective farm. Forty years after the end of the war, he receives the well-deserved award. Ivan is proud and happy. However, he is deeply hurt by the fact that a former policeman, Grishka, still lives and prospers in the village.

The head of the field hospital, Stupakov, has lost his wife. He devotes all his love exclusively to his daughter Vera, who works as a nurse in the same hospital. However, Stupakov’s love is selfish. Ignoring Vera's feelings, he tries to separate her from the man she loves. But Vera, defying everything, leaves for the active military unit...

He finds joy and fulfillment in the newfound sense of responsibility for his granddaughter's fate.

Zorka, the daughter of wealthy parents, is in love with the poet Domyanovich, whom she has never seen. When he appears at her parents' house under a false name, Zorka for a long time cannot come to terms with the fact that the poet turns out to be the most ordinary and simple person... But love took its toll.
