When two young tearaways are fleeing from the scene of a crime one is shot and the other escapes. He makes his way to the home of his companion's mother, who recognizes him as the son she has been separated from for fifteen years.

Her father takes the girl to the Riveria, where she is promised to a wealthy cad, but the captain arrives in time to rescue her from him as well as a crazed gypsy who has abducted her.

When a wealthy recluse apparently commits suicide, his trusted friend John Nichols (Rex Lease) is put in charge of the estate. Nichols is ordered to locate the dead man's long-lost son and daughter and inform them of their legacy. The two beneficiaries turn out to be the owners of a run-down racetrack. Falling in love with the daughter (Helene Costello), Nichols tries to rejuvenate the track with a high-stakes horse race.

Ben Shelby, a blacksmith, is in love with Caroline Swayne but her wealthy father rejects the marriage. When he is found murdered shortly afterwards, suspicion falls on Shelby.

Jimmy Kenton, a young wastrel with an addiction to jazz, falls in love with Marguerite Crandall when she sneers at his sporty antics at a health resort. He is then sent to jail following an altercation with her escort. Jimmy's father, Mark Kenton, pays his son's bail and sends him to San Francisco, CA, to close an important real estate deal with Marguerite's father, George. The determined young man vows not to sleep until he has completed the transaction, and Mark decides to make him regret such a rash promise. He arranges with the George to delay closing the deal for as long as possible and has Pat Casey accompany Jimmy to ensure that he stays awake. After Jimmy rescues Marguerite from a forest fire, George closes the deal and permits his daughter to marry Jimmy.

Popular action heroine Neva Gerber played the dual roles of Lucia and Vera Robilant in this low-budget silent melodrama produced by Benjamin F. Wilson, Gerber's frequent collaborator. Two almost identical women claim ownership to a pocketbook found by author turned adventurer Barry West (James Morrison). Barry is hired by nefarious Nicholas Lanza (Joseph W. Girard) to marry heiress Lucia, who surprisingly turns out to be one of the claimants. Meanwhile, Lucia's lookalike sister Vera is plotting to install herself as Lucia and claim the inheritance. After the wedding, Barry discovers a secret passage and finds the kidnapped Lucia. The villains are brought to justice and Barry and Lucia can finally plan a future together.

Jimmy, a prizefighter of considerable prowess, earns an easy living by betting on his opponents and intentionally losing. He is reformed by the exacting influence of his girl friend, Ruth, and retires from the ring. However, a crooked foreman is engaged in making himself rich at the expense of his employer and the villagers. However, Billy defeats the villain, and also wins Elinor, the daughter of a prominent local resident.

In search of her fugitive brother, who wounded a man who was later murdered, Johanna Hearne encounters pirates, a Chinaman with a harem and criminals as slaves, and love on a desert island for ship captain Dan Meloy.

A series of four 2-reelers based on the stories of George Bronson Howard, directed by Duke Worne, and starring Roy Stewart in the title role; each episode in the series was a story complete in itself. They are all presumably lost.
