This documentary follows four female First Nations artists—Doreen Jensen, Rena Point Bolton, Jane Ash Poitras and Joane Cardinal-Schubert are First Nations artists who seek to find a continuum from traditional to contemporary forms of expression. These exceptional artists reveal their philosophies as artists, their techniques and creative styles, and the exaltation they feel when they create. A moving testimony to the role that Indigenous women artists have played in maintaining the voice of their culture.

There's never a dull moment from the time Clint Northern meets Dan John Fighting Bear at his granddaughter's birthday party. The two take an instant dislike to each other but find themselves unlikely partners when they're mistaken as the culprits of a local bingo heist! Madness and mayhem ensue as they embark on a mission to clear their names and bring the real culprits to justice while evading a vengeful cop, and a crazed casino security guard. It's a barrel of laughs that never stops rolling! Along the way, they get a lot more adventure than they bargained for, some newfound respect, and quite possibly a lasting friendship.

Mavis Dogblood is a Mohawk painter from Canada haunted by the tragic death of her husband, who was hit by lightning. She paints the stories he used to tell her, but she can’t come to grips with her loss. It is only after she drives to New York City for an art opening, traveling across what were her ancestors’ tribal lands, that Mavis reconciles herself to her new life.
