5th Ward 5th Ward; is a fresh episodic series that captures the gamut of problems that plague inner city communities in an enlightening entertaining, and fast paced way. Fifth Ward is a historic black neighborhood located in Houston, Texas. Similar to Brooklyn in New York City or Compton in Los Angeles, Fifth Ward is a neighborhood in the midst of a dramatic cultural change. Created by Houston filmmaker Greg Carter, episodes tackle today’s relevant social, economic and political issues through the eyes of three generations of the Kennedys, an extended black family living in the neighborhood since the 1950′s.

A group of college friends are reunited after the death of their very successful friend. The will dictates that each person will receive a large sum of money if they can all successfully stay in his mansion for a week. If one person leaves, everyone forfeits the money.

In this frantic urban comedy, a pair of crooks whose ambitions outweigh their good sense steal a million dollars from a New Orleans crime boss, who soon catches up with the thieves and has them killed. Twenty years later, sometime college student Deion (Andrae Noel) thinks he may have figured out where the money is hidden, but he makes the mistake of sharing his theory with his Uncle Willie (Reynaldo Rey). Soon, Willie has told everyone in the neighborhood about Deion's scheme, and the race is on to see who can find the loot first.

Audrey is a typical music student at a large Midwestern college, interested in pursuing a career in classical music. Her apparent "normalcy," however, makes her something of a misfit in her family, made up as it is by a group of outrageous performers. Audrey's parents were funk/ R& B stars in the 1970s, while her brother currently reigns supreme on the hip hop and fashion scene, and her precocious little sister is a streetsmart MC in the manner of Lil' Kim. Audrey finds this family tree a little embarrassing, and is somewhat disdainful of the ego and trappings of pop culture entertainment, so she hides her clan from her new boyfriend. This unfortunately becomes a bit difficult to maintain when the family shows up for a visit. The campus will never be the same again!
