The Cage

In a village in Anatolia at the foothills of the mountains, a young man resists the domination of landlords and local gangs while striving to win back his wife's love and affection.

Selim is a mentally disabled man in his forties who was raised with great sacrifice by his family. An incident that occurs on his brother Zafer's wedding day will turn everything upside down. An event that befalls Selim will lead his family members to a sad fate where they will discover truths they were previously unaware of.

Our protagonist is an impenitent observer. Having adopted as principle, watching almost everyone and everything and learning every detail, he works at a tobacco warehouse. Even though everyone calls him “Observer,” he is actually a watch guard. In fact, he observes and also uses his observations. But he loses his grip. Because, those who talk about their observations and easily utilise them are not favoured at all. Does a rectangle has three corners or does it have three corners just because one sees three corners while standing at the other corner? Can a rectangle be three-cornered as well?

Yusuf, a young jeweller from the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, is having a bad time. His wife, Asli, is in hospital and there is nothing he can do to encourage her. Time passes, Yusuf's depression and Asli's fear of death cause the communication between them to fall into a deep pit until Elena, an attractive abused foreigner comes in her life.
